I took a photo everyday for the last year! I started on January 8, 2009 and ended on January 7, 2010. I think i meant to start on January 1st. I guess i forgot. My rules were I could take any many photos I wanted and to pick out the one photo of the day. Sometimes I would use also use a series of photos. It was fun! The other part that was good about it was it kept me organized with my personal photos and gave me more of purpose to take personal photos. Sometimes I think of all my photos on the hard drive just sitting there. They are sad to be there but I’m not sure where else they should go.
With the photos a day I labeled the people in the photos, you know most of the time. Randy came out in first place. mostly because he’s so photogenic and maybe cause he’s around the most. He got in 66 photos. Second was Tina with 23, Me and Orange & White tied with 22, and dude with 17. Dude is just random guys, usually a bit older and usually strangers. Weird that i’m taking all these dude photos.
I didn’t post all the photos here, here are just some of my favorites.

I was in Edgerton, Mn for christmas! it was snowy and cold. We were snowed in on christmas but the other days we got out and did some fun things. like bowling and going into town for coffee. oh, and the bakery! If you are ever in the area you should visit my parents. They will like it. You might drink some coffee if you stop by in the morning or some miller lights if it’s in the evening. ox sv

Chris & Shawn got married on August 22, 2009 in Spring Green! It was a beautiful wedding. The wedding and reception were at the same location, Hiltop. There were 3 separate locations on the grounds. The wedding was under this giant tree then everyone moved down to the dinner. The dance was down the hill under lighted lanterns. It was so romantic and perfect. Chris wore a striped seersucker suit that was cute cute cute and Shawn made her own dress! she has some hella dress making skills! They both have some great families & friends. I bet they danced until 2am!

My friend Hannah is going to have a baby and it’s very exciting! I was going to post the pregnant photo of hannah on the railroad tracks and then i thought i could put a couple more up because I usually take her photo when we are hanging out. Sometimes I like the photos.
The one on the railroad tracks was taken during work. It worked out really well that the window washers were there. I had him hold the background. he was very cooperative. He is not the dad of the baby. That is David. I guess he isn’t in in any of the photos. You would like him. I think he can do the splits. I’ve heard.

I’ve had a couple photos on billboards! I wish I could get orange & white on a billboard, that is when I will know I have made it! Here are two that were on the belt line, the Art Bernard photo was up this summer and John, barber extraordinaire, is up right now! Mostly it’s just a headshot that ends up really really big. It’s exciting.

Kristen & Josh were so great to work with! They are quality people and everything they do should work out. According to me. Also they are passionate about their hobbies. I’m sure they have more hobbies than I know but they love love love baseball and beer. Mostly we would talk about beer because I know more about that than baseball. I wonder what their other passions are. I should ask them.
I thought they did some really funny things for their wedding. I guess not funny ha ha….but funny. Neither of them live in Milwaukee but they got it in their heads to have the reception at a piano bar in Milwaukee so they did. And they also had the formal photos at 8:30 am which is nothing I have ever heard of. And no apologies from them about that….8:30, see you then. That’s awesome.
The piano bar was super awesome! people loved it. I loved it! and I love a wedding that happens during daylight hours. It was perfect really.

I was going to sell my 4×5 camera to this girl Erin so i had to get it out and make sure it was working fine. After I got the film back I was so excited and then really sad I was selling it. I had all these thoughts of doing 4×5 projects and being awesome. Since then I’ve lost Erin and i’m pretty sure she’s not buying my camera. (Erin! do you still want to buy this camera??) I doubt i’m really going to do these 4×5 projects. but right now i’ve got some cute photos of Randy wearing a pink sweatshirt! oh and there are a few shots on a medium format camera….these are pretty much the only film shots i’ve done since 2004 I bet.

I shot Jill & Nick’s engagement photos in the Willy St. area and then we went to the water. Jill bid on the engagement session at a silent auction, and won! I wonder if it felt like winning to her? They are a totally cute couple. Our first scheduled session was rained out and Jill wanted her people in Texas to know Wisconsin has nice weather. We were all happy the sun came out a couple days later. WISCONSIN IS THE BEST! (mostly.)

Erin & Jim! They got married on August 9, 2009 at Quivey’s Grove. It was a very design-y with the fun colors they used. I loved their wedding and everyone was having a great time! Erin made her own dress. After she put it on she said something like, “I feel like a cupcake!” and how fun would it be feeling like a cupcake? probably a lot. It was a beautiful day, maybe a little warm but one of those days where a beer would taste really delicious. I did not drink any beers.

I took a trip to the chicago to go to the pitchfork music festival with some friends.
highlights from the trip include:
1. justin got a really awesome parking spot in chicago so we did some tailgating before going into the show.
2. dancing
3. getting backstage with my smooth moves! backstage is sorta fun cause I got there but then kinda lonely b/c i was alone.
4. jenny does her make up and then we did a cute little photo shoot in her urban garden!
5. I found some new bands i’m going to get into like Matt & Kim and Beirut.
6. When Jenny was returning a salad at a coffeeshop because it was all moldy this cute bird came to the table!
