There was a wedding ceremony and a red tea ceremony and some brat eating and a little bit of trolly riding!
The ceremony was at the cute James Madison park little church. Is it considered a church? I don’t know. If you know Madison you know what i’m talking about. They decorated the basement of the Masonic Center to look like a magical room of awesomeness. Amanda was a lovely bride–I’ve never seen anyone cry as much and pull it together so quickly. Boom girl! Congratulations to Amanda and Conrad!!!
Mostly I feel like my photos tell a much better story of how great this wedding was than all my blah blah blah words. oxox
Tina is about my favorite person in the world. And Nick is probably my fourth favorite person in the world! AND THEY GOT MARRIED! It was a nice little ceremony at the HIlton Head with family members. The day was easy and cute and heartfelt. Good work team. I’m glad I got to be at your wedding! I did get to the wedding about an hour before the ceremony….a little stressful….but it works! Tina wore a dress she got at BHLDN-which is the Anthropologie wedding dress store. SO CUTE. SO SO CUTE. One of my favoritest dresses so far. And Tina couldn’t quit smiling. It was perfect.
I really love it when Justin & Cynthia get married. This wedding was great & perfect. Lawn games, music, and a DIY bar. I’ve known Cynthia for a couple years and she’s one of the nicest & easy going gals I know. Just goes with it–pleasant & nice. This is exactly how the wedding felt. No big to do’s. She did do a dress change from the wedding to reception-that was her diva moment. HA!
The bands that played at the wedding were delightful. Justin was looking very handsome in his suit. Shane gave a funny speech. The twice baked pototes from the 4&20 were delicious. The IPA a friend made was lovely. All the friends were looking super cute. Best day ever.
J O D I E & L U I S ! ! !
I met Jodie and her lady team at the farmers market on Saturday morning. Jodi decided to get her flowers the morning of her wedding-to me this is very exciting. I’m also going to go with a little risky–but fun! I think that is how Jodie does most of her life. Or at least her wedding. She made a ton of cute cute crafting things and then did some other really spontaneous things. Ok, I don’t really know how spontaneous she is–it could’ve just been that she didn’t tell me. Oh & she has a super organized (and still very nice!) friend Kate. Kate kicked some serious ass and got stuff done!
I think i should bullet point what i think the highlights of the Jodie & Luis wedding were. I don’t know how to make a bullet point really. I will use dashes.
-Jodie & Luis are sooooo in love. They seriously couldn’t quit kissing. I would comment on how on this and Luis would say, “i love this girl!!!” It’s so damn romantic! Luis is fun. I can tell he is always having a good time!
-the ceremony was in their backyard! They had a tree planting ceremony which was so cute and nice way to make a ceremony interactive. Yes! Interactive ceremonies are great! do this brides! also–I think this was another one of the spontaneous events of the day. I secretly believe they got a really good deal on this tree at like hy-vee or costco or something. With the trees came cute gloves!
-Jodie has good style man! you’ll see.
-Jodie’s grandpa. you’ll see.
-I talked a group of people to be background excited for the signing of the wedding papers. I don’t know how much they liked doing it—but they look good!!!
-there was a dog at the wedding! ZUG DOG! Jodie and Luis love dogs! Usually dog people always love dogs don’t they? buuuuut for their table names they used dogs that were currently at the shelter! They took photos and had their graphic designy friend (who also made all the invitations and programs!) make em’ look really pretty. There was also a little story about the dog.
-I loved this wedding. I have been lucky to have been shooting some really great weddings this summer.
-i know i say “cute” too much and use too many exclamation points. i mean every exclamation point and i love cute. oxox
Ok, I have some really good plans for my wedding. I thought I had everything all worked out and then I went to Ryan & Krista’s wedding on top of the Children’s Museum and everything has changed. It was amazing! The coolest location/space ever! trees on a rooftop! I love it! There is a little field of basil planted up there. I may have left with a pocket full of basil. i’m kidding.
I’d never been to the Children”s museum before and damn girl!!! that place if fuuuunnn!!! They do this fun event for adults once every two months where they open up the museum in the evening for adults and & can get beers and wine and play with all the kid stuff! I’m going to sures! OH, it’s called Adult Swim. Google it. I’ll see you there.
The rooftop where the wedding/reception took place was already perfect- Krista & Ryan added some nice little touches as well! I love a really pretty wedding-like the cute stuff they add- and I also love a low key wedding. This wedding was both. It was one of the smallest weddings I’ve shot which made it feel really intimate. It also made me feel a little like the paparazzi-I don’t feel like I stalked people too much! That was good. The beautiful food was made by the hip Underground kitchen dudes.
I’ve known Ryan & Krista for awhile–I mostly see them at biking & drinking events. If there is an event that involves drinking + biking there is a 94% chance I will see them. They are a great couple and think they compliment each other really well. I wonder if they will think it’s weird I’m writing that. I’m pretty sure i’m right though.
Oh man, did Krista wear the cutest little polka dotted dress or what?? yes she did. & Ryan is looking very handsome in his vest. more dudes should wear cute vests. I call.
Congratulations guys! kick some ass being married. ox sv
Heather is probably going to be the nicest wife in the whole world….but mostly only because Jason will never give her any reasons to be mean. or we’ll see….what do I really know?? Heather got Jason a puppy and she was all sneaky like–digging in his email and & photoshopping a dog with a photo of them in it to give to him. I was a little disappointed in Jason’s reaction….I think he might’ve been in shock about the whole thing. It just felt like he should’ve been high five-ing heather and like punching the air…..he was more concerned about who her contact person at the dog place was. The whole thing was really really cute!
The wedding was in Minocqua, Wi! The beginning of the day was a bit rainy but cleared right when it was go time for the photos!!! I drove Heather and Jason around Minocqua in my car to take photos. Wedding couples never sit in cars that aren’t limos or old classic cars. I love it that it never occurred to them how to get around. I’m not being sarcastic–It was great. I’m a classy wedding photographer–clean car! I’ll drive brides around all day! OH! also i’m going to try to get as many weddings in the Bayfield area-so so so if you know anyone getting married up there tell them about me! i’m not going to charge mileage & I can stay at my sisters house. The northern wisconsin is probably the dreamiest place ever. i love it so much.
ok so the part of the wedding that i’m usually the saddest about photographing is the license signing and cake cutting. BOR-RING. to the max. I’ve decided to make it a goal to make these two events more exciting. –for me i suppose. Is that selfish? Well, whatever. It’s fine. I think we did a fine job doing the license signing here. Good work team! and there was no cake cutting. or i missed it. like anyone is going to let the photographer miss the cake cutting!!!
I’m real chatty about this wedding-very unlike me. Heather & Jason are great. I decided to include a few of the awkward photos–i think i heard heather say in passing….oh. i kinda like the awkward ones. i don’t know if she meant it or not…but i’m sure she’ll get a kick out the ones i posted. Another funny thing is that Jason told me he loves dancing photos. I don’t think anyone has ever ever said that to me. I took it upon myself to really get some exciting dancing photos. Man-amongst the -good- dancing photos are a lot of crap photos. It totally my fault dancers-not yours. Your dance moves are always hot. ox
i loved the toasts at this wedding! good toasts heather & jason family & friends!
ps i am always up for shooting in a room with a lot of animal heads. they are weird and wonderful. hire me for your taxidermy themed wedding please.
hey! i’m like a wildlife photographer now!!! bam!!!
somebody told me it was very important to get a photo the cones all lined up with everyones name in it. yes, this sounds like a lovely idea i told the gal. By the time I got to take this photo there was one pine cone left. I’m just go ahead this is not a bad photo! & how impressive that everyone who rsvp-ed showed up!!!
do not delete this please. ox
James and Shawnee got married!!!! This was a great wedding-probably one of the best. ever. in the history of getting married. They got a standing ovation after the kiss. I don’t think that’s normal, their friends are pretty awesome. or wait–they are pretty awesome. Maybe a combination of both. Probably this.
The wedding & reception was at the lovely badger barns. It’s a great location for a ceremony-reception-dance- & photos!!!! I feel like I have so much to say about James and Shawnee and here I am now and I can’t think of what to write. Most of the time when I shoot a wedding people ask me “oh, how do you know the couple?” usually my answer is that they hired me and I know them now and think they are great! I think this of most of my couples!! But with Shawnee & James it felt like I really did know them before. I see them around town all the time-they are good people to be seeing around!!! Do you ever see someone and pretend to be talking on your phone? i don’t do that when I see the J&S team.
Oh man, Shawnee’s mom cracked me up. She was funny! kinda reminded me of my mom maybe. HULLA HOOPS! how fun are hulla hoops!! I also learned at this wedding if you bring a few blow up balls kids will go crazy. I loved their ceremony. People said nice things to them–it’s my favorite. I know my thoughts are kinda random. The talented Nicole Cooke second shot this wedding with me. I’m pretty sure we kicked some ass. ox
James & Shawnee’s friends and family were 20% happier than the average person! I sometimes make up statistics. You should too. This is was just a nice place to be on the 16th. I’m so happy I got the chance to shoot their wedding.
I loved meeting Molly and Russ and doing their engagement photos and now shooting their wedding!!! It felt like I was going to a friends wedding. I think I write this a lot. Mostly only awesome people have me shoot their weddings! They are perfect together! I love how molly is always telling me how handsome Russ is. This might be because i’m telling them they are look’n good and she mostly replies with a “oh, i know, isn’t Russ handsome.” so cute!
Molli & Russ had a morning-ish wedding at the tini tiny church at the James Madison Park. After the wedding we made a quick stop at the capitol and then to the reception at Jonny Delmonico’s. I took the sweet ass limo (as Molly would call it) with them to the reception. While walking back to the james madison park I stopped at the crema cafe and drank a iced coffee. I looked in the mirror and it was pretty rough. Good thing everyone at the wedding is looking at the cute bride!!! OH! man! did you see Molly’s dress! AMAZING!!
